Delightfully Democratic Delyn

"So where on earth is this place called Delyn?"

Delightful Delyn is one of the electoral constituencies in the county of Flintshire in north east Wales. Apparently, the name 'Delyn' was formed by fusing the names of the two main rivers that flow through the area - the Dee and the Alyn. (Good job they weren't called the River Shuttle and the River Wit; we'd have ended up with either Shit or Wuttle.)

However, Delyn has a double-meaning in that it also happens to be the Welsh word for Harp. This in turn happens to be, not just a musical instrument, but the name of a number of public houses in the locality. An electoral constituency named after a few local pubs, how novel!
